Paul worked as a nurse in a variety of mental health settings, including 10 years at Broadmoor Hospital, and was a PICU ward manager until he retired 2 years ago. His PICU team won several awards and were among the first to receive an excellent AIMS accreditation.
Paul has sat on the NAPICU executive committee for 7 years. He has a keen interest in the Accreditation for Inpatient Mental Health Services (AIMS-PICU), is an active AIMS reviewer for the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is the AIMS lead for NAPICU. He regularly delivers a well received breakout session on the AIMS process at the annual conference.
