The National Association of Psychiatric Intensive Care and Low Secure Units (NAPICU)
and The British Association for Psychopharmacology (BAP) developed a new joint
guideline in 2018, the Joint BAP NAPICU evidence based guidelines for the clinical
management of acute disturbance (de-escalation and rapid tranquillisation).
This 2 day event is follow-on to the highly successful launch event in 2018 which
introduced the new guideline and clinical algorithm to guide treatment and comprises a
wide range of speakers who are experts in its clinical, research and policy implications.
The meeting will be an excellent educational opportunity and will provide an essential
update for those with an interest in treating acute disturbance in acute adult psychiatric,
psychiatric intensive care, forensic and general hospital settings
