LAUNCH NAPICU Occupational Therapists’ Network
NAPICU are proud to announce the launch of NAPICU Occupational Therapists’ Network on Tuesday 3rd March 2020, 10 am, St Pancras Hospital.
As a multidisciplinary association NAPICU welcomes the opportunity to develop its understanding of the complexity of occupational therapy and the scope of its contribution to providing quality services and improving the client experience. There is a paucity of research literature related to occupational therapy in the specialised field of PICU, and a lack of information relating to occupational therapists’ needs, challenges or what constitutes good practice. To address this and increase knowledge of the scope and practice of occupational therapy in PICU and low secure services, NAPICU is developing a National PICU OT Network.
The launch event will be led by Dr Wendy Sherwood, Consultant Occupational Therapist and NAPICU Executive Committee Member.
The aim of the day is to enable occupational therapists to learn about the supportive opportunities provided by NAPICU and develop valuable practice and research links to achieve the Network’s aims.
- Sharing good practice and service development initiatives
- Developing knowledge of the role and contribution of occupational therapy in PICU and Low Secure services
- Exploring the evidence-base for occupational therapy intervention
- Promote staff support
