Rebecca is the Professional Head of Occupational Therapy for Southwark Directorate at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM).Rebecca started her career in healthcare in 2005 as a learning disabilities support worker and subsequently trained as an Occupational Therapist in 2008. Since qualifying, she has worked in a variety of settings including physical health, learning disabilities mental health, with the spent the majority of her OT career working in PICU.
Rebecca has a special interest in the use of sensory methods in mental health settings and in a previous role as Senior OT on ES1 PICU, Rebecca created a sensory room as a space for de-escalation and relaxation for patients. Rebecca has since published on the development of sensory rooms in mental health settings and has supported several trusts across the country to develop sensory spaces on their wards.
